One Of The Greatest Purposes Of Your Life Today
The book was among a pile of other books for some time before I read it. A former literature teacher and English major, I can’t even keep track of how many books I have actually read over the years. My bar for a good story is pretty high.
When I started to read Life, In Spite of Me, it truly was one of those books that I could not put down. It encapsulated all the drama of a powerful story-one young girl enduring heartache after heartache yet believing that she had a pretty good life. But her ideal situation could not reconcile a series of personal and devastating tragedies.
Ill-equipped to sort through the deep pain that engulfed her, she wanted to die. To end the pain. She jumped in front of an oncoming train and in that moment, she experienced the first of several mind-blowing miracles.
Kristen Jane Anderson’s story struck my heart. Her failed suicide attempt led to many months and years of facing depression, adjusting to life in a wheelchair, and eventually finding hope in God. Her journey depicts the best of the radical ways God redeems our lives.
My husband and I knew that her message of life for those who feel that death is the best option, was a message we wanted to share on a wider platform with the hope that others may too be saved from a life of gloom and hopelessness.
As we began to prepare the filming of a movie trailer, we fervently prayed that we would be able to raise the funds independently as convincing secular Hollywood studios to produce a faith-friendly film is a major battle.
So we launched this Kickstarter Campaign with an ambitious goal.
To ask for 3,333 people to donate 30 dollars or more over the next 30 days.
30 dollars to tell the teenage girl who wants to die that pain does not have to suffocate her.
30 dollars to reach the man whose wife left him and his heart aches for his children so much that he begins to consider ending the pain permanently.
30 dollars to send a message to the soldier whose life back in the United States is flooded with horrific nightmares and trauma to the point that a bullet enters her heart from her own hand after surviving combat overseas.
30 dollars to introduce God's love to the single woman whose loneliness overwhelms though she is surrounded by many friends, and she wonders if death would be better than this empty life.
Will you be one of the 3,333?
Can you take 5 minutes to watch our compelling movie trailer of Kristen’s bold act as she lay in front of a train?
Will you partner with us and be a significant piece of spreading hope by donating just 1 dollar? Or 5?
We believe in this feature film’s potential to change lives. It starts before the film is in theaters.
It starts now, with you. One of the greatest purposes of our lives is to do good towards others. This is the good you can do today!
Thank you for contributing to this powerful ministry of hope and for believing that we can make a difference in the world through faith-friendly films!
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11
