Dear Wife of a Dreamer,
Dear Wife of a Dreamer,
It couldn’t have been easy when you heard of his plan. Things were so comfortable for you all at the time.
Thank you for trusting God’s plan for your life by supporting your husband’s dreams. It makes it easier for me to do the same when I notice your unwavering encouragement to him. A lot of women would have dug in their heals, but I see you both kicking yours up. I guess that’s the freedom that chasing dreams brings!
I can’t think of anything more humanly unnatural than to willingly place your well-being under the canopy of someone else’s choices. But I see you two working together as a team, coming to mutual understanding through the Holy Spirit, and respecting one another in love. When your husband is following God’s path for him, it’s so apparent that you understand that this dream of his is yours too. It’s obvious how much your husband needs that from you, and it makes him courageous.
Your hands are the ones God uses to lift your husband’s chin when he is tempted to look down after a hard day. Months can turn into years and yet there you are, ever hopeful and certain that the dream your family is pursuing is God’s calling. I overhear you whispering life into your husband’s heart, reminding him that God is working everything together for good. The confidence of it shows and makes me want to step into my own God-Sized Dreams.
How wonderful to see God fulfilling your own personal dreams too. God knows you have shown yourself so faithful and you are reaping the blessings.
Wife of a Dreamer, keep pressing on and leaning in to the life you have been called to, whatever those dreams look like. You know the importance of encouraging your husband through thick and thin and you have done it well.
Even when it meant risking everything.
Thank you for reminding me through your life that wives and husbands are not solitary islands when they become a family. We are as fluid as a waterway, cresting the ebbs and flows of life together, enjoying the ride because we know Who made the river.
Sincerely,
A Fellow Dreamer Wife
Wives, understand and support your husbands in ways that show your support for Christ. The husband provides leadership to his wife the way Christ does to his church, not by domineering but by cherishing. The Message: Ephesians 5:22-23
YOUR TURN! What do you think the God-Sized dreams are for your family? For you? How do you encourage the dreamer in your life? Holley Gerth is encouraging us this week to write a letter to a fellow dreamer. Share yours with us too! I love to hear from you!!
Not to us, O Lord, not to us, but to your name give glory. Psalm 115:1
